What the results are

The results are estimates for planning and ordering. They are not engineering advice, and they do not replace your local building code, a permit review, or the instructions that come with your materials.

• Lumber, shingles and concrete vary by maker. Check the coverage printed on the product.
• Structural sizes such as joists, beams, rafters and footings depend on loads and local rules that these calculators do not know.
• Always confirm quantities with your supplier before you order, and measure twice before you cut.
